UNM’s Pavlenishvili: We have practical questions for Nika Gvaramia that remain unanswered; refusing to debate speaks for itself

“When Georgian Dream attempts to highlight internal opposition feuds, they would do well to recall how their own members file false testimony against one another, arrest each other, and leave one another for dead; by contrast, nothing of that scale is happening among us,” declared Irakli Pavlenishvili, Chairman of the Interim Governing Council of the United National Movement (UNM).

Pavlenishvili noted that Ana Tsitlidze has raised specific questions, and anyone holding an opposing view should agree to a public debate rather than avoiding the issue.

“Ana Tsitlidze has put forward concrete questions. Therefore, when she calls for a debate, anyone holding a contrary view ought to sit down with her face-to-face rather than levelling insults at her or other UNM members.

He should refrain from issuing such insulting statements and instead provide practical answers to the questions raised. Government propaganda screaming about what is supposedly occurring within opposition ranks, while their own figures race to turn state’s evidence against each other, is simply comical. Senior Georgian Dream officials must be running out of pens to sign confessions with when they attempt to lecture others,” Pavlenishvili stated.

Pavlenishvili also commented on claims made by Nika Gvaramia alleging that the UNM had also sought to cooperate with former Prime Minister Nika Gilauri.

“We have practical, businesslike questions to which we receive no answers; only slander and idle gossip. This claim is another baseless rumour lacking any foundation. The simplest resolution is to sit down for a debate, but when you refuse to do so, the motive becomes transparent,” Pavlenishvili added.
