UNM's Pavlenishvili on invitation of OSCE/ODIHR mission: Ivanishvili's gang knows opposition voters will be in streets
“The reason for the invitation of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission to the October 4 local elections is obvious. Ivanishvili’s gang knows that opposition voters will be in the streets instead of polling stations, and that is why they are inviting our western partners,” said Irakli Pavlenishvili, Deputy General Secretary of the United National Movement (UNM) party.
According to Pavlenishvili, the majority of opposition voters do not intend to participate in the elections, called a special operation.
“Those forces, who will be participating as so-called opposition representatives in this special operation, are bankrupt. There will be no violence or violations, and that is why the government is inviting our European partners.
It doesn’t matter how authoritative the organization is, because the absolute majority of opposition voters does not intend to visit the so-called polling stations. They will be in the streets, and Ivanishvili knows this very well,” he said.
The Georgian government sent an invitation letter to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) to observe the upcoming October 4 municipal elections, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced at the briefing.
