UNM’s Pavlenishvili: Constitutional Court judges reject every opposition motion and are outdoing city court judges in hostility

“The judges are not granting a single motion and stand out for their very aggressive statements towards opposition politicians,” said Irakli Pavlenishvili, chair of the United National Movement’s interim governing council, speaking about the ongoing Constitutional Court hearings.

He claimed the court is clearly under orders to rush the case, noting that hearings are already scheduled for next week.

“As for the current stage of motions, it has become clear that whereas earlier they tried to give the impression that they might, in theory, grant at least one motion, they have now given up even on this ‘show of democracy’. They are not granting a single motion, and the judges stand out for their very aggressive statements towards opposition politicians, outdoing their colleagues at the City Court in this respect,” Pavlenishvili said.
