UNM's Parulava views Zura Girchi Japaridze's being in freedom, his efforts to unite opposition as significant
“We need political leaders in freedom for pressuring Ivanishvili’s regime peacefully and its removal from power,” said Lasha Parulava, a member of the United National Movement (UNM) party.
According to Parulava, opposition should unite over two key demands – free elections and unconditional release of political prisoners.
“Society is united over two main demands – free elections and unconditional release of political prisoners. These two demands are unwavering and have never been in danger. What is being discussed here is that real action is needed. We need political leaders in freedom to pressure Ivanishvili’s regime peacefully and to remove it from power.
For one year, rallies have continued, and we actively participate in these protests. Obviously, in all actions that will be effective in defeating Ivanishvili’s regime, we will be right there and on the front lines. We will be where there is resistance against Ivanishvili’s Russian regime.
The real result will be achieved when the two demands of society are followed by concrete steps, and this requires political leaders to be outside prisons. Zura Girchi Japaridze’s being in freedom is significant. A new force emerged since Zura wishes to unite us with actions. We are united over two main demands, but here I mean such actions, which will make our decisive fight effective,” he said.
