UNM's Parulava views regional architecture created by President Saakashvili as opposition's main resource
“Levan Sanikidze meant the regional architecture and political heritage created by President Saakashvili, that is the opposition’s main resource,” said Lasha Parulava, a member of the United National Movement (UNM) party.
According to Parulava, this resource is the target of Russian interests.
“Obviously, if we want to defeat Russian interests, the regional architecture and the political heritage, which was created after the Rose Revolution, should be pursued, and this is the path to victory, the formula which will lead us to victory. The Rose Revolution is a concrete case of how the Georgian people won. The regional architecture and political heritage serve as a key resource for the opposition but represent the target of Russian interests. I mean Georgia as a transport and economic hub. It is with this focus that we can unite the Georgian people and win. We have done this before and will do it in the future,” he said.
Levan Sanikidze, a member of the United National Movement, said that Georgian politics revolves around UNM. “How do opposition parties define their identity? By simply stating they are not the UNM. But then, who are they? Well, if they’re not UNM, then who exactly are they?” he said.
