UNM's Nadiradze: On October 4, thousands to take to Rustaveli to seize power; violence to be responded to

“On October 4, a large crowd will gather on Rustaveli Avenue to peacefully assert their desire for change. We must make it clear to the frightened Shalva Papuashvili and his leader that any act of violence will be met with firm resistance,” declared Irakli Nadiradze, a member of the United National Movement opposition party.

According to him, anyone who raises a hand against peaceful demonstrators will be held accountable.

“They are well aware that thousands of people will be participating in a peaceful revolution marked by flags and non-violent protest for a fair and just change on October 4. We must warn the scared Shalva Papuashvili and his boss that violence will not go unanswered or unpunished. No one should dare to strike against peaceful protesters. If any action is taken against them, it will be the Georgian people who respond. And yes, the new government, the new minister, will ensure that all those who attempt to harm peaceful, freedom-loving citizens are held accountable,” Irakli Nadiradze asserted.
