“We face a critical deadline on October 4, when the Georgian Dream is scheduled to hold elections. Resistance remains the only viable option. Ivanishvili’s regime deserves a peaceful overthrow,” stated Levan Khabeishvili, a member of the United National Movement (UNM).

Khabeishvili expressed confidence that the Georgian people will rally against Ivanishvili.

According to him, Bidzina Ivanishvili arrests anyone holding dissenting viewpoints. Instead, he prefers to focus public discourse on trivial topics, like “butterflies, penguins,” and to praise those, claiming that pensions have increased, life is improving, and the economy is growing.

Khabeishvili argued that any mention of poverty, Russia’s influence, or the illegitimate government results in arrests, as Ivanishvili “does not operate in defence mode.”

“The Georgian people have the full right to seize power through all lawful and constitutional means. The Constitution states that sovereignty belongs to the people, and this country belongs to the Georgian people. We should be mobilizing to challenge them, and they should be defending themselves. I sincerely believe that we will rally against Ivanishvili,” he emphasized.

Khabeishvili also pointed out that since 2012, the Georgian Dream has been akin to a Russian-controlled regime, citing the release of Russian agents and their free movement across Tbilisi.

“Today, the world recognizes them as part of the Russian government; no one shakes hands with them. We face a critical deadline on October 4, when they plan to hold elections. We must oppose this. How can elections be legitimate when all opposition leaders are imprisoned?” he questioned.

“Bidzina Ivanishvili must stop persecuting journalists, civil activists, and political opponents. In my view, this government has cancelled elections and democracy, and this regime deserves to be overthrown,” he concluded.
