UNM not to participate in Russian games linked to plotted impeachment of President

“Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili is affiliated with Bidzina Ivanishvili (former GD Chair). She does not make any decision without his consent,” said Levan Khabeishvili, Chair of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party.

Levan Khabeishvili believes the decision over the US-designated former General Prosecutor Otar Patrskhaladze to revoke Georgian citizenship confirms that the President does not make decisions independently.

“We do not plan to participate in Russian games linked to the fabricated plot to impeach the President. I regret that the speculation on this topic is not over. The UNM Political Council decided the party would not participate in the parliament meeting to impeach the President. All this is Bidzina Ivanishvili’s game. Accentuating this topic fits the interests of the Georgian Dream, the Russian party, and Bidzina Ivanishvili only,” Khabeishvili stated.
