UNM members start hunger strike until Saakashvili is sent overseas for medical care

United National Movement (UNM) opposition party members, Davit Kirkitadze, Ana Tsitlidze, and Abdulla Ismailov, have start a hunger strike until jailed ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili is sent overseas for medical care.

Kirkitadze said after Special Penitentiary Service released footage of Saakashvili taken at VivaMedi Clinic, “we all saw what the Georgian authorities are doing to bring the third President to death.”

He also hinted at varying opinions over their move within the faction.

“I am deeply convinced that our society has humanity and together we should not allow the death of the third President of Georgia,” Kirkitadze stated.
