UNM Chair presents Unity - National Movement's election priorities

The United National Movement (UNM) Chair, Tina Bokuchava, on Wednesday, presented the five main election priorities of “Unity – National Movement,” among them, “yes to Europe, income growth, protection of pensioners, a strong Georgian family and ending the price mafia.”

Bokuchava stressed that “Immediately after the change of government following the October elections, the UNM together with its coalition partners will open negotiations on joining the European Union and Georgia will become a proud, worthy and full-fledged EU member.”

She pledged that “after winning the elections, “Unity – National Movement” will cancel the Russian law, which is depriving our country of millions of dollars and euros.”

“We will sign a free trade agreement with the U.S. and get visa-free travel to the U.S. for every Georgian citizen.

The second priority is employment and the creation of high-paying, decent jobs for our citizens.

Our third priority is to protect pensioners. As soon as we take office, we will cancel pension loans. We will also work with our coalition partners to boost pensions, which should be at least 1,000 GEL.

Strengthening the Georgian family is our main priority. We must return the joy of new life to Georgian families.

We will also introduce free school meals. The program is already being implemented with tremendous success in Tsalenjikha. We pledge to all students that we will make significant investments in the development of dorms.

We need to return the Georgian citizens in forced emigration, who are fleeing the increased prices and unemployment from Georgia, and that is why President Saakashvili’s one-billion-dollar fund will be created, so that each emigrant returning to Georgia has a chance for a new start and a better perspective, right here, in their homeland.

Our fifth goal is to combat Georgia’s pricing mafia, which was formed by clans affiliated with Ivanishvili.

The choice is simple – prosperity in Europe or poverty in isolation,” Bokuchava added.
