UNM's Melia says Georgian gov't proud of resuming flights to Russia amid ongoing occupation

The Chair of the United National Movement (UNM) party, Nika Melia, on Friday, said: “The Georgian government is proud of resuming flights to Russia and justifies it by the interest of the populace at a time when flights to Russia are outlawed in the civilized world and when Russia occupies more than 20% of Georgia’s territory.”

According to Melia, “Russia is pleased that the third president of Georgia [Mikheil Saakashvili], who struggled for freedom, is being murdered by the Georgian Dream government, just as it planned and executed the assassination of Zviad Gamsakhurdia [the country’s first President].”

“We will not tolerate the Russian government in Georgia. We will fight together with the free world for our country’s freedom and the European future,” Melia vowed.

The UNM Chair reflected on the Russian Foreign Minister’s statement, in which Sergey Lavrov expressed hope that Russia would soon resume direct air traffic with Georgia.
