UNM Chair: OSCE and Venice Commission assessments are important, but sanctions must be toughened

Tina Bokuchava, the chair of the National Movement, emphasized the importance of assessments from international organizations like the OSCE and the Venice Commission but argued that the sanctions policy must be tightened.

“While the assessments of organizations such as the OSCE and the Venice Commission are important, the quality of Ivanishvili’s assessment has already exceeded that of all assessments. Therefore, tightening the sanctions policy is essential, as it is the only measure that impacts Ivanishvili and will pull our country back from the abyss his regime has driven it into,” Bokuchava stated.

On April 2, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) issued a statement urging authorities to reconsider the implementation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act and expressed its readiness to assist in improving the legislative framework.
