PM: Kutaisi Technology Hub center to be of regional significance; Building to take on new function

“The development based on knowledge and innovations is one of the top priorities for the Georgian government,” said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during the opening of the Kutaisi Technology Hub.

According to the PM, the Kutaisi Technology Hub will become a regional centre of knowledge, innovation, and technological development.

“I am pleased that today we are opening the Kutaisi Technology Hub, which will become a center of regional significance. The building, which was a symbol of the previous government’s corruption, will take on a new function starting today. The development based on knowledge and innovations is one of the top priorities for the Georgian government.

Over the past years, we have developed a support system for innovative startups, established a national network of technoparks, introduced special tax conditions for technology and innovation businesses, attracted international companies, and provided thousands of young people with the opportunity to acquire modern knowledge and pursue professional development.

All this has already brought economic effects; With the support of the government, over 300 innovation and high-tech startups have generated over 800 million GEL in economic value and created jobs for more than 4,000 of our fellow citizens, while Georgia has established itself as one of the most attractive hubs in the region,” he said.
