United Neutral Georgia public movement declares formation as political party

Vato Shakarishvili, one of the founders of the United Neutral Georgia public movement, announced that the organisation has now been officially established as a political party.

Speaking at a briefing, Shakarishvili indicated that the party’s founding congress will be held soon, marking the beginning of preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

“Over a year has passed since the inception of our organisation, United Neutral Georgia. During this time, alongside Georgian society, we have actively sought to expose the myriad vices threatening our homeland, both within and beyond our borders. Our efforts have focused not only on safeguarding political stability and peace but also on confronting the very existential question of Georgia’s future presence or absence on the world stage.

Since the world’s leading powers continue to regard our country solely through the lens of their own interests, ignoring our needs and aspirations, we have repeatedly highlighted the unequal struggle waged by the European Union and the United States against Georgia. Their primary goal remains to oust our government by any means necessary and install their agents in power.

Instead of calming tensions or reducing external interference, the situation has only worsened after the Georgian Dream party once again secured a mandate from the people in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

Obviously, European values have almost entirely eroded within the European Union itself. Brussels bureaucrats now serve not the European idea but the interests of informal oligarchic rulers, openly supporting political factions in Georgia that aim to overthrow the government violently amid declining popular support.

Simultaneously, the EU’s aggressive promotion of LGBT propaganda, culminating in the 2026–2030 LGBT Strategy signed by Ursula von der Leyen, threatens not only morality but also the physical safety of Europe’s youth. This strategy, which is mandatory for member states and candidate countries, openly undermines Christianity, national identity, traditions, and cultural heritage.

The situation is equally alarming in the United States, where informal oligarchic interests attempt to mask their influence behind a façade of reform. The Trump administration, for instance, is fighting the so-called Deep State largely through words rather than meaningful action.

A stark example occurred on October 4, when a small network of agents attempted to overthrow the Georgian government by storming the presidential palace. The European Union openly encouraged this coup attempt, calling it a “peaceful overthrow,” while the United States responded with strategic silence to the criminal actions of these agents.

Given these circumstances, we believe that our government should refuse to associate with the morally, politically, and economically degraded European Union until it is genuinely reformed around true European, democratic, and just values. Unfortunately, it appears that neither the EU nor the United States truly regard sovereign Georgia as an asset; instead, our country has become a scapegoat, manipulated by their agents.

Amid unprecedented external pressure, governmental inaction, and anti-Georgian activities by opposition forces, we have decided to establish a political party. We accept the responsibility before our country and its people: we can no longer be merely the hope of a government or a stateless, Euro-illusioned opposition. The party’s founding congress will be held soon, and preparations for the parliamentary elections will commence.

Our declaration of Georgia’s neutral status will serve as a reaffirmation of our sovereignty and economic potential, especially recognising the strategic geographical advantages our nation possesses. We aim to use this position not to serve the interests of any particular country or union, but to demonstrate to the world’s leading nations that the peace, stability, and economic prosperity of Georgia are beneficial to all, and can provide opportunities for them to advance their own interests within a secure and independent Georgia.

By effectively and wisely leveraging our geopolitical position, we can attract the attention of not only partner countries and Russia but also the residents of occupied territories in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali, fostering the reintegration of these regions,” said Vato Shakarishvili.
