Economy Minister introduces new head of State Electrosystem to employees
Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili introduced David Vardiashvili to employees of the Georgian State Electrosystem as the company’s new head.
The minister congratulated Vardiashvili on his appointment and wished him success in his new position. She also thanked the former head of the Georgian State Electrosystem, Vano Zardiashvili, for his work. Zardiashvili stepped down from the position at his own request.
According to the Ministry of Economy, David Vardiashvili has extensive experience in public service and state administration.
At various times, he served as director general of the Georgian Gas Transportation Company, director for financial affairs at the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, and held positions as a board member and director at the Georgian State Electrosystem.
From 2022 to 2025, Vardiashvili served as First Deputy State Representative-Governor of the Samtskhe-Javakheti region. In 2016-2017, he was Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs. He also worked in various structures of the Revenue Service for 14 years.
Vardiashvili holds a Doctor of Technical Sciences degree and is an academician of the Georgian Engineering Academy. He is also the author of a scientific monograph and numerous technical and scientific publications.
