The UK reported 756 deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The total number of fatalities from the virus reached 26 097 people.

The peak of coronavirus infections in the UK has been reached, experts say, raising pressure on ministers to reveal plans for lifting the lockdown as the country enters its fifth week of isolation.

During Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday, Matt Hancock, the Health Secretary, announced the UK was now “at the peak” of the outbreak, as reported by The Telegraph.
