U.S. Under Secretary meets CEC Chair

Uzra Zeya, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, on Thursday, said she had a “crucial discussion” with the Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC) “to reiterate strong U.S. support for free and fair elections in Georgia, including local and international observation of elections.”

In her tweet, the Under Secretary said, “The U.S. support for democracy in Georgia is longstanding and foundational to our bilateral relationship.”
