U.S. budget for 2021 as military aid to Europe and Eurasia including Georgia is USD 170 million

The U.S. fiscal budget for 2021 as military aid to Europe and Eurasian countries including Georgia envisages allocation of USD 170 million.

The document says that priority of strategic security in Europe and Eurasia is countering with Russian influence and aggression with strengthening opportunities with the allies and partners to defend sovereignty through cooperation with NATO and western forces and carrying out of sustainable defence reforms.

Also based on the document, the financing will contribute to the supply of military equipment, weaponry and training. The countries which are named as recipients of the military aid are Georgia, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

According to the draft-project, allocation of financial aid is also planned within the framework of the program of international military education and training. The budget for the program is USD 25.5 million and the recipients are Georgia, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.

The program aims at strengthening the regional security and cooperation with the US and NATO to resist against Russian aggression.
