National Forestry Agency reveals 72 instances of violations in June
Officers of the National Forestry Agency revealed 72 instances of violations in June, including 57 cases of illegal logging and timber transportation.
Eight law violations were identified in the Imereti region, 15 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, 3 in Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti, 10 in Kvemo Kartli, 12 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 5 in Guria, 8 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 8 in Kakheti and 3 in the Shida Kartli region.
Five of the violations contain elements of a criminal offence; consequently, the materials have been forwarded to the relevant investigative agencies for further inquiry.
The Agency revealed 14 facts of misappropriation of the state-owned forest areas. Additionally, one unregistered sawmill has been discovered in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region.
Officers of the National Forestry Agency revealed 391 facts of illegal logging in the first 6 months of the year across the country.
