U.S. Ambassador to Georgia – Georgia has made tremendous progress over the years but there is still a lot to be done

The new U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan said that it was an honor for her to serve as Ambassador in Georgia and that she was looking forward to contributing to the strong partnership existing between Georgia and the U.S.

“I’m glad to be here. It is great honor for me to serve as the US Ambassador to Georgia and I look forward to contributing to the strong partnership between Georgia and the US”, said the Ambassador.

According to Degnan, Georgia has made tremendous progress over the years but there is still a lot to be done. Degnan claimed that she was looking forward to helping Georgia, with her team and Washington, to achieve stability, success and safety.

New U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan arrived in Georgia today.

Kelly Degnan was sworn in as the new U.S. Ambassador to Georgia at the U.S. Department of State on January 17.

At the swearing-in ceremony, Degnan said that she felt “particularly honored to be selected as the U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, a country that shares America’s love of freedom and democracy.”

The White House presented the candidacy of Kelly Degnan for post of U.S. Ambassador to Georgia in September of 2019. The Senate approved Degnan’s candidacy in December.
