Two arrested in Tbilisi as police seize 40 deals of assorted Class A drugs

Officers from the Old Tbilisi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department, operating under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA), have arrested two individuals, including one foreign national, in separate operations on suspicion of the illegal purchase, possession, and facilitating the supply of controlled drugs in particularly large quantities.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, searches of the suspects’ persons and residences, along with subsequent investigative actions across multiple locations, led officers to seize particularly large quantities of illicit substances packaged for distribution as physical evidence, including Alpha-PVP and methadone.

Materials used for packaging and weighing the controlled drugs were also seized as part of the investigation.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260 (4) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carry penalties of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
