Turkiye's Defence Ministry: Our aircraft accident investigation team coordinates with Georgian authorities

“Our aircraft accident and incident investigation team is carrying out its operations at the crash site in coordination with the Georgian authorities,” Turkiye’s Defence Ministry wrote on the X platform.

According to the Turkiye’s Defence Ministry, the investigation continues and its progress will be shared with the public.

“Our aircraft accident and incident investigation team which was swiftly deployed to the area following the crash of our C-130 military cargo aircraft in Georgia, has been carrying out its operations at the crash site in coordination with the Georgian authorities.

Technical investigation and assessment process regarding the incident continues and developments will be shared with the public,” it said.

For reference, a Turkish military aircraft crashed in Sighnaghi municipality, approximately 5 kilometres from Georgia’s state border. The plane was conducting a flight on the Azerbaijan-Türkiye route. An investigation into the incident is underway under Article 275, Part 4 of the Criminal Code, which covers violations of air transport safety or operational regulations resulting in loss of life or injury.
