Transit price for cargo from Azerbaijan to Armenia agreed with Georgian authorities

“The transit price for cargo from Azerbaijan to Armenia has been agreed with the Georgian authorities. This indicates that Azerbaijan-Georgian relations are friendly,” said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said this at a press conference when summarizing results of the year.

According to the Azerbaihani FM, a request was received from Armenia regarding the sale of petroleum products, and the issue of transportation through Georgia was raised. He remarked that that the tariff imposed by Georgia was indeed very high:

“This raised questions in Azerbaijan, because it was not in line with existing practice. Within a short period of time, the Georgian leadership intervened in the matter and the issue was resolved. The rate of full compliance with the market conditions was agreed between the companies. I want to take this opportunity to thank the leadership of Georgia. This indicates that Azerbaijan-Georgian relations are friendly. I think this issue is resolved and this method will be applied again,” he said.
