If Adjara has anything to be protected, Adjara government, in the same way as the Georgian government, will do its best to protect it. But Adjara will never become a subject of political populism – Tornike Rizhvadze, Chairman of Adjara Autonomous Republic’s Government said when commenting about the banner of Patriots’ Alliance.

“This is absolutely unacceptable – banners, statements and all this will be evaluated adequately by people. At the same time, turning the issue into a subject of cheap political populism is inadmissible,” Rizhvadze said.

According to Chairman of Adjara Autonomous Republic’s Government, Batumi City Hall has already reacted over the fact.

“We will not tolerate having any signs of political context in this city. If Adjara has anything to be protected, Adjara government, in the same way as the Georgian government, will do its best to protect it. But Adjara will never become a subject of political populism,” Rizhvadze said about the banners, which are already removed.

On the banner of Patriots’ Alliance, Adjara Autonomous Republic was marked in red color likewise Georgia’s occupied regions. The banner read: “Protect Adjara! Protect your part of Georgia!”
