Russian police detained more than 1,000 people in central Moscow on Saturday during an unauthorised protest. According to Russian media, the police arrested 1100 people, including journalists too.
Several activists were injured as a result of clashes with Special Forces. They were taken to the hospital.
As the Russian Interior Ministry wrote on the official website, 3,500 people participated in the rally held on Saturday, however, the number of protesters exceeds 10,000 in the protocol drawn up by the police.
The protesters were demanding that opposition candidates be allowed to take part in city council elections.
