In support of Vazha Gaprindashvili, the Georgian doctor detained by Tskhinvali occupation regime, the rally of ‘White Coats’ was held in Tbilisi and in the regions of Georgia.

The medical staff in the regions protested Vazha Gaprindashvili`s illegal detention and called on the de facto authorities to release Georgian Doctor.

The medical staff of ‘MediClub Georgia’ expressed their support and held silence protest in Tbilisi.

Vazha Gaprindashvili’s wife Tamila Lapanashvili who has attended the rally in Tbilisi said that ‘Red Cross’ has not visited her husband up to now. She added that if ‘Red Cross’ does not visit her husband, a rally will be held outside the ‘Red Cross’ office.

Tbilisi-based doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili, who was illegally detained by Russian occupation forces near the occupation line with Akhalgori Municipality, has been sent to two-month pretrial detention, – State Security Service confirmed the information.

The decision was made by the Occupation Regime on November 15. Vazha Gaprindashvili was reportedly charged with ‘illegally crossing the border’ under article 322 of the criminal code of Russia.

Tbilisi activated the hotline mechanism of EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM).
