The first meteor shower of the year peaks tonight

The Meteor shower happens several times a year, but only three of them can produce over 100 meteors per hour – Perseids in August, Geminids in December, and Quadrantids in January.

On the 3rd of January at night and on the 4th of January at dawn, the inhabitants of the northern hemisphere will witness the Quadrantids meteor shower.

A moonless night will ensure dark skies and will help your chances to see meteor shower brighter. It will be especially well seen in Europe, including in Georgia.

The meteor shower will peak tonight at 07:00 Tbilisi time.

First Channel photo reporter Irakli Gedenidze will shoot the Quadrantids meteor shower. Photo and Video material will be available on 1tv.ge tomorrow.
