Terms of customs clearance to be extended to car importers

Terms of customs clearance will be extended to car importers for vehicles imported in Georgia before April 1 of 2020 at the decision of Finance Minister based on the suggestion of an inter-institutional Coordination Council established in prevention of the spread of the virus in the country.

Also, sanctions will not be imposed against those persons, who fail to re-export the cars within 90-days after their import if customs procedures are carried out before September 1.

The initiative will refer to 38 thousand car owners and the amount of obligatory payments is about 50 million GEL.
