Tents to be put up in Batumi Boulevard for voluntary coronavirus testing

Two tents will be put up in Batumi Boulevard for coronavirus testing, said the head of National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), Amiran Gamkrelidze.

Nightclubs and bungalows will undergo mandatory coronavirus testing as well, noted Gamkrelidze.

Taking tests in the tents will be completely voluntary, added Gamkrelidze.

Among 10 new coronavirus cases detected today, two have been recorded in Batumi. One of them is imported and another one is linked to the Kobuleti Cluster.

23 contacts of the patient from Kobuleti Cluster have been identified. Some of them entered quarantine and others self-isolating, said Nona Epadze, Deputy Director of the Adjara Public Health Center.

As of August 19, 27 coronavirus patients remain in Batumi Republican Clinical Hospital.
