Protest at Adjara Education and Culture Ministry

Activists of Batomi Movement and Protect Batumi Boulevard held a rally at the Adjara Education and Culture Ministry.

They demanded to stop the construction of a 16-storey hotel complex in the boulevard. Ambassador Batumi Company is building the complex.

Protesters demanded the cancellation of the construction permit. “We will not allow the boulevard to be distorted as a cultural heritage monument,” said Natia Abkhazava, a member of the Protect Batumi Boulevard initiative group.

The activists will appeal to the court if the Adjara Ministry disregards their demand.
