Tengo Tevzadze: Protest continues with full force; we are going on offensive
“We will bring down the regime, and this country will have no political prisoners. We will be able to build a free and united Georgia,” declared a member of the Opposition Alliance, Tengo Tevzadze, at the ongoing demonstration outside the Georgian Parliament building.
According to Tevzadze, elections cannot be free without political leaders who are either imprisoned or politically persecuted.
“I want to say to the people gathered here, and to ask you: without emigrants, without our compatriots, can elections be fair? I want to ask you: without our political leaders, without Nika Melia, without Elene Khoshtaria, without Misha, without Levani, without others, can elections be fair? Despite our differing positions, we must not forget the politicians who are subject to political persecution. Can there be free elections without Mamuka Khazaradze, without Gakharia? Equally, can elections be free without observers? Surely elections will be free without Bidzina Ivanishvili? Long live Georgia without Bidzina Ivanishvili. We will bring down this regime. We will bring down this regime, and this country will have no political prisoners; we will not have so many people driven into emigration, and we will be able to build a free and united Georgia. The peaceful protest will continue. I salute the participants of 450 days of unbroken protest. The protest continues with full force, we are going on the offensive,” declared Tengo Tevzadze.
