Tea Tsulukiani to Giorgi Gakharia: You betrayed us, fled, and call me Russian despite your Russian education

“You betrayed us, you fled, and you’re calling me Russian – that’s what I’m told by you, a man educated in Russia,” Parliamentary Investigative Commission Chairwoman Tea Tsulukiani addressed Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, who joined the session remotely.

“We understand that you insult us, that you betrayed us, that you fled, that you consider us the worst of all, you call me Russian – that’s what I’m told by a man educated in Russia. We understood this, but are you saying that Elguja Kharazishvili lied? Elguja Kharazishvili, who came here and lives in Chorchana, said that ever since you installed the checkpoint, we can no longer enter the forest that used to be a communal forest that the village used to benefit from. Accordingly, are you declaring that Elguja Kharazishvili lied?” Tea Tsulukiani confronted Giorgi Gakharia.

According to Giorgi Gakharia, he never said anything of the sort about Elguja Kharazishvili.

“I never said it and I will never say it. Unlike you, Elguja Kharazishvili is a decent man,” Gakharia declared.

Tea Tsulukiani addressed Gakharia once more: “Elguja Kharazishvili can no longer enter the forest after you installed the checkpoint,” to which Gakharia responded: “This has no significance whatsoever.”
