MP Sharmanashvili: Georgia ranks among leaders in budget transparency

Georgia has not become a leader in this area only recently. The country has long been among the leaders in budget transparency and a number of other governance indicators because it is moving in the right direction. We have nothing to hide, either in our foreign relations or from our own people, parliamentary majority member Tengiz Sharmanashvili said.

Sharmanashvili responded to a question regarding a ranking according to which Georgia placed 25th globally in terms of bureaucratic quality and ranked 17th among European countries.

“If we make mistakes, we have no difficulty acknowledging them. If there is wrongdoing, we are not afraid to recognize it, even if it involves someone within our team. We are taking the right steps, and those steps will bring success,” Sharmanashvili told the GPB First Channel.
