Tea Tsulukiani – Decisions of Strasbourg Court will help truth to prevail

The decision of Strasbourg Court will help the truth to prevail – Tea Tsulukiani, Justice Minister said about the decision based on which complaints filed against Georgia in connection with the 2008 war were recognized as inadmissible.

“The truth is that ethnic cleansing of Georgians was carried out in 2008. We are trying our best to prove by facts what happened on the territory of Georgia during the war when Georgian villages emptied, we received more internally displaced persons, our hostages were tortured and killed,” Tsulukiani said.

The Strasbourg Court recognized the complaints filed against Georgia in connection with the 2008 war as inadmissible on December 13.

According to Justice Ministry, the Strasbourg Court released three rulings on the following cases -“Jioeva and others against Georgia”, “Kudukhova against Georgia”, “Nanieva and Bagaev against Georgia.”

The applicants (citizens residing in Tskhinvali region) claimed that during the August 2008 war due to the activities of Georgian side their lives were in danger and their property was damaged or destroyed.

According to the Ministry, the European Court of Human Rights declared the above-mentioned complaints inadmissible as considered them ill-founded.
