The hotline has been immediately activated and the co-chairs of Geneva have been informed about the fact of illegal detention of Mirian Taziashvili near the village of Zardiantkari, – the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani stated.

According to Minister, intensive work continues with international partners to ensure the unconditional release of citizens detained illegally as soon as possible.

“Such facts of illegal detention of Georgian citizens near the occupation line further complicate the already grave humanitarian situation on the ground, especially when it has been more than a year, even in the pandemic conditions, the so-called crossing points have been closed in the occupied Tskhinvali region, that restrict access for locals to emergency services, including medical services” – Tea Akhvlediani said.
