Tbilisi to host Tbilisi Food-Gen 2026 festival on 24–25 October
“Tbilisi Food-Gen 2026, a festival dedicated to Georgian filled pastries and breads, will take place on Orbeliani Square on 24 and 25 October,” Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced today at a meeting of the Tbilisi municipal government.
He said the festival will include masterclasses in traditional Georgian baking and talks on the history and traditions of Georgian cuisine.
“The City Hall’s Economic Development Service organised the event. The festival will showcase a wide variety of Georgia’s filled pastries and breads, and visitors can sample both well-known classics and forgotten regional delicacies. Chefs invited from the regions will take part. The programme includes masterclasses in preparing different pastries and breads, as well as talks on the history and traditions of Georgian cuisine. This is the first time the festival is being held in the capital, but I am sure it will take place in the years to come. We look forward to seeing everyone on Orbeliani Square,” the mayor said.
He said the festival will also feature modern gastronomy, with chefs presenting traditional Georgian flavours with a contemporary twist.
