Tbilisi Mayor to welcome PM’s pay rise initiative
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze welcomed Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s initiative to raise wages for public servants and mayors.
“PM’s decision is significant and correct,” Kaladze said. Tbilisi Mayor noted that he would announce the wage increase in different municipality services on August 11.
Following the decision of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, wages of public officers will increase, while mayors’ pay will double from January 2022. PM said the salary increments were essential to boost the motivation of people employed at state institutions.
