Tbilisi Mayor presents 2025 report to City Assembly
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze presented the 2025 report of work and activities to the Tbilisi City Assembly (Sakrebulo), which is reviewing the 2026 budget draft.
Before presenting key parameters of the next year’s budget, Kakha Kaladze summed up the year and named road infrastructure arrangement, namely 931 reconstructed streets and avenues, as the main priority. He provided details about the fortification works of outdated buildings, the arrangement of recreational areas expanding across 65 hectares and the addition of 200 new buses to the municipal transport fleet.
Kaladze went on to say that Tbilisi City Hall implemented youth educational, entertainment and leisure programs, arranged exhibitions, festivals, conferences and activated the program in support of small and medium-sized businesses.
He remarked that the Tbilisi Kindergartens Management Agency served approximately 60 thousand kids through 190 kindergartens; TbilServiceGroup agreed on the purchase of modern 45 special vehicles valued at 17 million GEL.
According to Kaladze, a total of 54 modern underground bins were installed on the rehabilitated roads. Drainage networks were installed and rehabilitated at 239 locations across Tbilisi; Tbilisi Municipal Inspection reviewed over 1,625 cases of construction rule violations. This year, 99 families have been granted housing. In total, since 2017, 3,121 families have been granted housing, and 37 families affected by cooperative housing construction have been satisfied with residential spaces.
Kakha Kaladze noted that the Municipal Healthcare and Social Service implemented 30 programs – 9 in the healthcare sector and 21 in the social sector, benefiting up to half a million beneficiaries.
“Within the framework of the support measures we have issued, up to 20 unfinished construction projects are in the completion stage and/or will be put into operation by the end of 2026,” he said. Regarding the work of the Animal Monitoring Agency, Kaladze underlined that a record number of stray animals (10,200) were neutered and spayed, while approximately 11 thousand were vaccinated against rabies.
Tbilisi Mayor commended Tbilisi City Hall’s entire team and Sakrebulo staff for their support. “I am happy that behind these numbers are the improved conditions and benefits received by tens of thousands of Tbilisi residents,” he stated.
Kakha Kaladze extended gratitude to Sakrebulo for communicating the concerns of Tbilisi residents and for supporting the initiated projects.
“We are ready to serve the city and Tbilisi residents tirelessly, in 24/7 mode. We have ambitious plans, and the coming year will be quite important. With united and joint efforts, we should respond to the challenges with dignity,” he concluded.
