Tbilisi Mayor Kaladze: Lelo's purpose is unclear; they're not going to Brussels for Georgia's benefit
“I don’t know their purposes, but clearly they’re not going for Georgia’s benefit,” declared Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze in response to a question about Strong Georgia-Lelo leaders’ visit to Brussels.
“These people cannot even conceal their efforts to restrict Georgians’ visa-free travel to European countries, despite their claims. Multiple statements were made, including appeals for prompt decisions to be taken against our people and to revoke this opportunity. Remember, during the candidate status discussions, they lobbied behind the scenes to prevent Georgia from obtaining candidate status. This is an ordinary agent network that has absolutely no interest in this country’s fate or future. They are fed from outside, they have their patrons,” declared Kakha Kaladze.
According to him, some foreign diplomats are directly involved in Georgia’s ongoing political process.
“Their patrons know best what’s happening in the country, how miserable and ‘scattered’ the opposition is, though we can’t even call this opposition, these are representatives of an agency. Of course, they receive instructions; they don’t visit embassies by chance, as some representatives were seen doing a few days ago. Also, observe the diplomats. Foreign diplomats are directly involved in political processes with their political statements. This is unimaginable. This has nothing to do with diplomacy,” declared Kaladze.
Regarding the United National Movement members’ visit to the United States and Congressman Joe Wilson’s statement, Kakha Kaladze assessed that this American politician receives money to “post nonsense”.
“This individual frames everything in exchange for 80 thousand dollars, posts all manner of nonsense full of slander and based on lies. The man took 80 thousand dollars to author such nonsense,” declared Kakha Kaladze.
