Tbilisi Mayor: Instead of diplomacy, ambassadors of different countries engaged with Georgian internal political affairs
“I did not expect such behaviour from the French Ambassador. This is bad,” said Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, responding to the question over the covert meeting between Sergi Kapanadze, Head of the think tank GRASS (Georgia’s Reforms Associates) and Olivier Courteaud, French Ambassador to Georgia.
According to Kaladze, ambassadors of different countries are involved with Georgian internal political affairs while their activities are linked to diplomacy.
“Frankly speaking, I did not expect such behaviour from the French Ambassador. I met the ambassador several weeks ago. He said that he would be open and there would be no interference in domestic affairs on his part. However, it was revealed that he covertly meets a representative of the violent group. This is bad when we see that instead of diplomacy, ambassadors of different countries are engaged with Georgian internal political affairs,” Kakha Kaladze said.
