Tbilisi Mayor – Georgian Dream is not considering to question free will expressed by Georgian people through free elections

Georgian Dream is not considering to question the free will expressed by Georgian people through free elections, appointment of new elections or similar issues – Kakha Kaladze, Tbilisi Mayor said during the briefing.

Kaladze underlined that everybody had to respect every voter and the choice of every voter, who voted for Georgian Dream or oppositional parties.

“Under the difficult conditions of pandemic, about 2 million people participated in the elections out of which about 1 million voted for Georgian Dream Party. . . Nobody plans to lead the political dialog so that your votes or your support is undermined,” Kaladze said.

When commenting about the second round of talks held earlier this afternoon between the ruling party and opposition, Kaladze said that the opposition did not agree on recount of votes and viewing of video footages that could exclude speculations.

“This is not in their interest to determine the truth. They prefer trading with their modified, imagined forged elections,” Kaladze said.

The second round of a dialogue held between the ruling Georgian Dream Party and the opposition at the residence of U.S. Ambassador to Georgia with the mediation of U.S. Ambassador and Head of EU Delegation in Georgia ended with no tangible results.
