Tbilisi hosts 27th MFC Annual Conference

Tbilisi is hosting an international conference, organised by the Microfinance Centre with the support of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG). The theme of the 27th Microfinance Centre Annual Conference, the largest inclusive finance event in Europe and Central Asia, attended by over 400 delegates from over 35 countries around the world, is “Shifts, Shocks and Solutions: Microfinance in the Shadow of Geopolitics”.

“The reforms implemented by the National Bank in recent years have played a crucial role in the stable development of the microfinance sector, resulting in a flexible yet responsible financial model that has withstood serious challenges,” stated Turnava.

The aim of the conference, attended by representatives of financial institutions, investment funds, financial regulators, policymakers, and innovative social finance companies, is to discuss opportunities for access to inclusive finance in the face of geopolitical and climate challenges.

This year’s conference is being held as part of the anniversary events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Georgian Lari.
