Tbilisi to host Verdi Opera Festival

Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theater will host Verdi Opera Festival. Badri Maisuradze, Art Director of the theater signed a contract with Verdi International Festival which is being held annually in Parma (Italy).
Georgia will have official right to hold the festival not only in Tbilisi but other cities across the country as well. Tourney of Tbilisi opera troupe to Parma in 2019 is also meant under the agreement.
In 2019, Parma will be the European culture center. The project will be implemented within the framework of Creative Europe Program of European Union.
