Tbilisi City Court sends detainee charged with attack on police officer behind bars

Tbilisi City Court ruled imprisonment in the case of Mate Devidze, an individual charged with an attack on a police officer during a protest at Melikishvili Avenue.

The Prosecutor’s Office released a video of the attack and demanded the imposition of a prison term. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) determined through an investigation that the indictee inflicted multiple injuries to three police officers with a wood stick at the rally in the morning hours on November 19.

The defence asked for a 2,000 GEL bail but the court dismissed the proposal.
