Tbilisi City Court imposes Lelo's Japaridze imposes 50.000 GEL-bail to Lelo's Japaridze
The Tbilisi City Court imposed GEL 50.000 bail on Badri Japaridze, one of the leaders of the Lelo party, as a punitive measure for his having failed to comply with the requirements of the interim fact-finding commission.
The plaintiff’s side demanded bail in this amount without any additional activities. Badri Japaridze said he believed that the current repressive regime uses the Prosecutor’s Office and court as tools for retribution against opponents.
“We have repeatedly said that this is a new wave of repression on the part of the Georgian Dream. No law was violated and this so-called investigative commission established with the violation of the Constitution, aims to oppress opponents. We are ready for any challenge,” he said.
