The Tbilisi City Court has imposed a fine of GEL 4,000 on Miranda Baghaturia and Ana Kurashvili, representatives of the press services of the Ahali and Girchi-More Freedom parties, respectively. Baghaturia and Kurashvili faced charges of insulting police officers, with the plaintiff requesting imprisonment as a punitive measure.

Following the announcement of the verdict, the accused individuals asserted their innocence.

“I do not plead guilty to a crime I did not commit. I was not present at the scene at the time. The regime seeks to punish active individuals. However, I am more angry than afraid. I will continue to fight back,” Ana Kurashvili stated.

According to Miranda Baghaturia, police officer Mirian Kavtaradze dictated the court’s decision.

“This was the instruction of false witness Mirian Kavtaradze. He was in a car during the trial. He brought his slave witnesses and controlled them. However, neither of them pointed at me. They wanted to imprison me, but they realized what was happening outside. The Ministry of Internal Affairs intended to send Ana Kurashvili and me behind bars,” Baghaturia explained.
