Penitentiary Service Head: Elene Khoshtaria to undergo additional tests at Vivamedi Clinic under agreement
“There is an agreement that Elene Khoshtaria will undergo additional examinations at the civil sector clinic Vivamedi,” Director of the Special Penitentiary Service Giorgi Pataridze said.
According to him, Khoshtaria will be transferred to the Vivamedi clinic within approximately two days.
“We agreed with Maka Ioseliani and Ana Kavtaradze, who represent the convict’s interests in the medical field, that she will be transferred to a civil sector clinic Vivamedi, with which the Penitentiary Service has an agreement. Accordingly, at the Vivamedi clinic, under the supervision of Ms. Maka and Ana, convict Khoshtaria will undergo appropriate additional examinations. In the coming days, within about two days, the convict will be transferred to the clinic,” Giorgi Pataridze said.
He added that ongoing speculation has a negative impact on the convict.
“The speculation over recent days has a very negative impact on each convict. Two days have passed since we requested consultation with a specialized doctor, and we have effectively reached a decision that is in the best interests of convict Khoshtaria. We have repeatedly noted that information suggesting a specific illness came from the interested party. We have also stated that appropriate laboratory tests would be conducted in this regard. Fortunately, this disease was not diagnosed. Relevant tests have been conducted repeatedly,” he noted.
