Tamar Chugoshvili: These elections have international legitimacy. Under these conditions, neither voters nor int'l partners will understand opposition's refusal to participate in election runoff
“Not entering the parliament was the biggest mistake made by the opposition in the past and this mistake can not be repeated,” Tamar Chugoshvili, an independent MP and former Vice-Speaker of the Parliament wrote on her Facebook page.
“These elections already have international legitimacy and under these conditions, neither the voters nor the international partners will understand opposition’s refusal to participate in the second round.
“One cannot leave the government alone without any opposition or competition in the parliament. Today, the opposition has won more seats than ever before, and given the control mechanisms under the current legislation, these seats in parliament are more powerful than ever,” noted Chugoshvili.
