Girchi, European Georgia, Lelo and Strategy Builder issue joint statement

The political parties – Girchi, European Georgia, Lelo, and Strategy Builder have issued a joint statement saying that they are not going to “recognize the results of the rigged elections, run in the second round and enter the illegitimate parliament.”

According to the statement, they are ready for long-term and peaceful protests.

“We reiterate our firm position that we are not going to recognize the results of the rigged elections, participate in the second rounds, and enter the illegitimate parliament. We continue protesting the results of rigged elections peacefully. Our demands remain unchanged – to hold new elections, change the CEC administration, and release political prisoners. These are the issues that should be discussed with the Ivanishvili regime through the mediation of Georgia’s international friends.

We call on peaceful demonstrators, including supporters of any political group who are justifiably outraged by the rigged elections and violence, not to engage in a physical confrontation with the police. Anyone, who does not do so, will distance himself/herself from the peaceful protests.

We are ready for a long and peaceful protest. The power of our protest lies in peaceful actions. We decided to hold the next protest rally on November 14 in Tbilisi, while the human chain will be made on November 21, during the second fictitious rounds of rigged elections,” – reads the statement.
