Swiss Embassy expresses gratitude to Georgian people, government for condolences, sympathy

“We thank the citizens and authorities of Georgia and our international partners for their condolences and expressions of sympathy,” reads the statement of the Swiss Embassy in Georgia posted on its Facebook page.

According to the Embassy, Switzerland observes a national day of mourning.

“Today, Switzerland observes a national day of mourning in memory of the victims of the devastating fire in Crans-Montana on 1 January. Our thoughts are with all those affected, in Switzerland and beyond.

We thank the citizens and authorities of Georgia and our international partners for their condolences and expressions of sympathy,” the Embassy said.

For the record, around 40 people died, and 115 were injured in a fire at Le Constellation Bar and Lounge in the Swiss ski resort of Crans Montana on January 1.
